Permit Checker — Terms of Use
Calas Automations · Winnipeg, Manitoba · Last updated: October 2026
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using the Permit Checker (the “Tool”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
2. What this is — and what it isn't
The Tool provides general information and routing only. We are not your lawyer, agent, engineer, architect, or representative, and using the Tool does not create any such relationship. We do not file, submit, sign, or certify anything on your behalf, and we do not make any decision about your project. We do not interpret the law for your specific facts or tell you what you are legally required to do — we tell you what is commonly required and send you to the official authority to confirm. Your privacy: the Tool runs entirely in your browser — we do not collect, transmit, or store the job details you type.
3. The authority decides — not us
Only your local building, zoning, or licensing authority can determine what is required for your specific property and can approve or deny any permit. Always confirm with them before you act, pay, or begin work.
4. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for your project's compliance, for the accuracy of the information you enter, and for independently confirming all requirements, fees, and timelines with the applicable authority before relying on anything shown here. You apply for, and sign, your own permits.
5. No warranty
6. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (for example, liability for fraud). Paid Calas products (such as Quote Me and Dispatch Me) are governed by their own agreements, which incorporate this same “information-only, the-authority-decides” posture.
7. Accuracy, currency, and coverage
Permit rules differ by city and change over time. Our guidance is general, may be incomplete or out of date, and is deeper in some locations than others (detailed, city-specific guidance today in Winnipeg, with more cities being added; elsewhere we provide general guidance and route you to your official authority). We may change, improve, or remove content at any time. We make no claim to know every bylaw in every jurisdiction.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and the courts of Manitoba have jurisdiction, except where applicable law provides otherwise for your location.
9. Changes & contact
We may update these Terms; the “last updated” date above shows when. Questions? Call (431) 244-9026.
